Originally developed by Dr Pemberton Ford in 2006, the IbixTranslate Mp3 player was a radical innovation designed to service victim engagement in the highly conflicted environment where potentially trafficked victims of trafficking were engaged by policing operations in the UK.
The Ibixtranslate tool, contained key encounter messages, which had been carefully crafted with the co-operation of survivors and the Crown Prosecution Service, to enable those experiencing a policing raid, or enquiry visit, to have an improved understanding about their immediate experience, thus reducing the trauma and confusion of uncertainty and lack of information. The Ibixtranslate Mp3 was widely deployed by British Policing in the first phases of national attention to Human Trafficking in Operations Pentameter 1 and 2. http://www.ibixinsight.com/translate/. The innovation was presented to the UN by Dr Pemberton Ford in the summer of 2007 and was subsequently taken forward as an informational tool by the UN the Vita tool in 2009.
